Understand the Standards Before Enrolling.
Decide whether our program is the right fit for your family. We offer demanding military-style training. We expect effort, discipline, respect, accountability, and a willingness to participate. Those expectations apply to every Recruit. Parents have responsibilities, too. A negative review does not automatically mean the program failed. A Recruit may have failed to meet the standards.
A parent may have disregarded the requirements, withheld important information, or enrolled a child who was unwilling to participate. Disappointment with an outcome does not, by itself, make that outcome unfair.
Do Not Trick Your Child Into Attending
Your child must know what this program involves and be willing to participate. Some negative reviews have followed situations in which parents misled their child about the program or enrolled the child against their will. The child arrived, refused to participate, disrupted training, and was sent home. The parents then faced the financial consequences of an enrollment decision they should not have made.
Do not disguise XMC as a vacation, conceal its military-style expectations, or assume your child will agree to participate once you leave. A Recruit can be nervous, homesick, or uncertain and still make an honest effort. Refusing to participate and disrupting everyone else’s training is a different matter. We will not allow one unwilling participant to derail training for those who WANT to be at Camp Liberty. Disruptive behavior or refusal to comply with program requirements can result in dismissal.
No Refunds. Under Any Circumstances.
All payments are nonrefundable. There are no refunds, under any circumstances. A short stay does not create an entitlement to a refund. Neither does refusal to participate, dismissal for disruptive behavior, failure to meet the standards, incomplete enrollment requirements, or a parent’s realization that enrollment was a mistake. You may pay a substantial amount and have your child sent home after a short period because of their conduct, refusal to participate, or failure to satisfy program requirements.
That does not change the no-refund policy. Understand this before paying. Discuss it with your child before enrolling. Do not make a financial commitment on the assumption that an exception will be made for your family.
Parents Are Accountable, Too
Your responsibilities begin before your child arrives. Completing the enrollment process accurately and following every requirement is your responsibility. That means: Tell the truth on the application. Disclose all requested information completely and accurately. False statements, misleading answers, and withheld information can result in denial of admission or dismissal. Complete the required physical. Obtain the required examination and submit all required medical documentation by the stated deadlines.
An incomplete physical, missing paperwork, or a promise to provide it later does not satisfy the requirement.
Follow the packing list to the letter. Provide every required item in the specified quantity and form. Observe every restriction. Do not make unauthorized substitutions or assume missing items will be someone else’s problem. Complete every remaining enrollment requirement. Required forms, signatures, disclosures, deadlines, and arrival instructions are requirements—not suggestions. Failure to comply will result in consequences, up to and including refusal of admission or dismissal. The no-refund policy applies.
We cannot accept responsibility for your child unless every single step of the required process has been followed to the letter.
These requirements support your child’s safety, readiness, and ability to participate. They also help our staff fulfill their responsibilities to every participant. “I forgot,” “I didn’t read it,” “I thought it was optional,” and “Nobody reminded me” do not satisfy an unmet requirement. If an instruction is unclear, ask before the deadline. If you cannot meet a requirement, address it with us before arrival. Do not arrive expecting staff to overlook the omission or make an exception under pressure.
We hold Recruits accountable for following instructions. We hold parents accountable for doing the same.
Male Recruits: The Crewcut Is Required
For male Recruits, a Crewcut is mandatory. It is not an optional part of enrollment. This is the program’s military-style grooming standard. Parents and Recruits must understand and accept it before arrival. Do not promise your child that he can keep his hairstyle, tell him the haircut requirement probably will not be enforced, or expect staff to negotiate an exception at check-in. If your child is unwilling to receive the required haircut, do not enroll him.
Refusing the requirement can result in refusal of admission or dismissal. The no-refund policy applies.
Standards Apply to Every Participant
Your child will receive instruction, supervision, correction, and opportunities to improve. Your child will also be expected to follow instructions, respect others, contribute to the team, and accept responsibility. Being someone’s “little angel” does not exempt a Recruit from those expectations. Tuition purchases the opportunity to train. It does not purchase special treatment, exemption from standards, or guaranteed graduation.
The title “Cadet” is “Earned, never given.” A small percentage of participants do not graduate because they fail to meet the standards.
We will not award the title simply because a parent paid for enrollment or objects to the outcome.
We Are Not a Childcare Service
We require active participation and sustained effort. Recruits will encounter demanding tasks, direct correction, frustration, and responsibility. If you want a program that keeps your child occupied while accommodating every preference, our program is not a suitable choice. Read the information. Understand the requirements. Ask questions before committing.
We Are Not a “Turn-Around Program”
Do not enroll an unwilling child expecting our staff to resolve serious behavioral problems through uniforms, structure, and firm instruction. Military-style training is not a substitute for counseling, treatment, or specialized behavioral intervention. Parents must honestly disclose relevant needs, history, and concerns so program suitability can be assessed. We cannot supply a Recruit’s willingness to participate. Parents cannot purchase it. The military is not society’s dumping ground.
Military personnel are professionals whose service demands honor, discipline, dedication, and sacrifice.
The profession we honor deserves more respect than the assumption that military training exists to take unwanted behavior off someone else’s hands. Participants must be willing to engage in the training and accept responsibility for their conduct.
Accountability Applies to Us, Too
Report any concern to any Cadre member wearing a black (Command) or red (Medical) shirt. How to Raise a Concern ↗
Our standards do not excuse mistreatment, unsafe practices, or staff misconduct. Specific concerns deserve serious attention and an honest response. At the same time, correction is part of training. Dismissal can be the appropriate consequence of disruptive conduct. Failure to graduate can be the appropriate outcome when standards are not met.
Read the Written Limits on Corrective Training ↗. Those limits apply even when a Recruit fails to meet the standards.
Consider the published expectations, the participant’s conduct, the parent’s fulfillment of enrollment requirements, and the program’s response when evaluating a complaint.
Make the Right Decision Before Enrollment
Talk honestly with your child. Read the requirements and payment terms. Complete every required step. Make sure your child understands the challenge and is willing to undertake it. If your plan depends on deception, forced participation, special treatment, guaranteed graduation, or getting your money back if things go badly, do not enroll. We expect Recruits to work toward the standards.
We expect parents to understand, follow, and support those standards. Threatening a negative review does not change either expectation—or the no-refund policy. CADET: EARNED, NEVER GIVEN.
