CADET SEARCH AND RESCUE ACADEMY - 2 Weeks
"I'm so impressed! The Cadet Search and Rescue Academy scenarios are more realistic than the Code Blue scenarios we did in medical school." Dr. Victoria Kuohung, MD, JD
Training begins with classroom instruction covering the fundamentals of search and rescue, emergency management, search planning, land navigation, survival principles, communications, and team operations. Cadets also receive instruction in first aid, CPR, risk management, and the Incident Command System while learning how professional search and rescue organizations coordinate missions.
During the field training phase, Cadets apply these skills in realistic search scenarios under the supervision of experienced military and civilian instructors. Working in small teams, participants conduct search operations, navigate unfamiliar terrain, manage communications, treat simulated casualties, and execute rescue techniques while operating in a disciplined military environment.
