BEFORE YOU MAKE A COMMITMENT
Liberty Communications, LLC makes a substantial, continuing investment in insurance for Camp Liberty operations. Ask Admissions for current verification. When comparing programs, ask what coverage applies to the activities your teenager will undertake. Insurance & Parent Transparency ↗
Ask when the particular course last ran, who taught it, what participants completed and whether course-specific family references are available. New and proposed courses should be identified clearly. A course name alone does not establish a record of instruction.
Ask who issues the credit and transcript, what curriculum, instructional hours and assessment support it, and what qualifications the instructors hold. Verify any claimed accreditation or recognition with the named organization. Before enrolling based on a credit promise, obtain written confirmation from your teenager’s own school that it will accept the credit and explain how it counts toward graduation.
XMC does not purchase ranking placement. Ask who produced a “number one” or “best camp” list, how programs were evaluated, and whether advertising, sponsorship, affiliate payments or other financial relationships influenced inclusion or placement. An advertising position is not an independent assessment of program quality.
XMC develops leadership, judgment, discipline and responsible military career exploration. We do not offer sniper training. Review actual course objectives, prerequisites, instructor qualifications and safety procedures rather than relying on dramatic names.
These questions apply to XMC, too. Ask Admissions direct questions ↗
PROGRAM PURPOSE AND FORMAT
XMC focuses on residential career exploration. Extreme Military Challenge! uses hands-on military-style training to introduce military life and service-oriented career fields. Challengers live and train at Camp Liberty, developing discipline, confidence, teamwork and leadership through daily routines and practical courses.
JROTC is a school-based citizenship and leadership program. Army JROTC states its mission as “To Motivate Young People to be Better Citizens.” Its school curriculum and related activities develop citizenship, responsibility and leadership, and also support college and career readiness.
We are an independent, civilian-operated program, separate from JROTC, ROTC and the U.S. Armed Forces. Attending XMC does not create a military enlistment obligation. The programs share values such as leadership and personal responsibility, while their format and primary emphasis differ.
At XMC, the title of Cadet is earned only by successfully completing Cadet Basic Training. Prior participation in JROTC does not by itself confer that XMC title.

BEFORE YOU ENROLL
Ask about inspections, maintenance, sleeping-space standards, separate male and female accommodations, private toilets and showers, and staff facilities.
Ask for food-service credentials and inspection information, background-screening procedures, youth-development training and activity-specific qualifications for the range, pool and rappelling.
Request current liability and accident-insurance documentation. Ask how tuition supports the summer program and whether the camp also recruits for a year-round school.
Ask about military and youth-program experience, how concerns are handled and how families are informed. We welcome direct questions through Admissions.
