Opportunity Through Performance.

Female Challengers participate in XMC’s leadership and career exploration programs alongside male Challengers in a disciplined training environment. Effort, conduct, character and the applicable standards determine achievement.

Know the Requirements for the Course.

The general summer program serves ages 13–18. Individual courses have additional age, prerequisite, fitness and selection requirements. Qualified female Ranger candidates must meet the same published graduation requirements as male candidates. Female Cadets may enroll only in Cadet Ranger School Session 2, July 11–24, 2027. At least three qualified female Cadets must be enrolled for a female training element to run. All course prerequisites and standards apply.

International Experience. Shared Achievement.

Female Challengers have traveled from abroad, completed Basic Training and progressed through specialty and selected leadership courses. Their achievements reflect determination, preparation and sustained effort.

A CHALLENGER’S STORY

From Norway to Camp Liberty. A Distinction Earned.

Cadet SSG Helene Bjørklund · 2026 Profile Account

Helene Bjørklund traveled from Norway to Camp Liberty to begin her XMC journey in 2024. After completing Cadet Basic Training and earning the title of Cadet, she continued through the Cadet Military Police Academy, winter Cadet Tactical Skills Training, and Cadet Ranger School.

In the published account of her 2026 return for the selected Cadet Ranger Leadership Course, Helene is identified as Cadet SSG Bjørklund. Known as “Viking” by her Battle Buddies, she earned the XMC Cadet Ranger Brown Beret. That account recognized her as one of only five female recipients at the time; this is a historical profile, rather than a current recipient count.

Her progression reflects the preparation, commitment and leadership that female Challengers bring to XMC.

FEMALE CHALLENGERS

Opportunity. Achievement. One Standard.

A published XMC participation snapshot reported female Challengers as 18% of the Corps of Challengers and recipients of 34% of awards. The graphic does not identify its reporting period; these figures describe that snapshot rather than current enrollment or a prediction of future awards.

All program pathways are open to qualified female Challengers, subject to the course’s prerequisites and session arrangements. Female Ranger candidates meet the same graduation standards; the published Session 2 and minimum-two-qualified-females arrangement remains in effect.
