CADET ON-THE-JOB TRAINING
Off-Season Service Support Positions
THIS TRAINING IS BY APPLICATION ONLY - ENROLLMENT IS NOT THROUGH CAMPMINDER

Real Experience. Real Responsibility. Real Leadership.

The Spring On-the-Job Training (OJT) program gives returning Extreme Military Challenge! Cadets the opportunity to step behind the scenes and experience what it takes to operate one of the nation's premier military career exploration programs. Unlike a traditional classroom course, OJT places Cadets alongside experienced Cadre and staff members, where they gain practical leadership, maintenance, logistics, and operational experience while helping prepare Camp Liberty for the upcoming Summer Training Mission.

This is a highly individualized program with extensive one-on-one mentoring. Cadets work directly with experienced professionals, receive career guidance, develop leadership and communication skills, and gain valuable insight into military and civilian careers dedicated to serving others.

Flexible Scheduling

Spring OJT is designed to work around school schedules.

  • Report any Saturday

  • Depart the following Saturday, or any later Saturday that fits your schedule

  • Typical assignments range from one to several weeks

  • Alternate arrival or departure dates may be approved on a case-by-case basis

This flexibility allows Cadets to participate during Spring Break or other school breaks while gaining meaningful hands-on experience.

Areas of Experience

Depending on current projects and Camp Liberty's operational needs, Cadets may assist with:

  • Facilities maintenance and improvement projects

  • Logistics and supply operations

  • Central Issue Facility (CIF)

  • Medical Aid Station support

  • Dining Facility operations

  • Administrative and business support

  • Equipment preparation and accountability

  • Training area setup and maintenance

  • Preparing Camp Liberty for the Summer Training Mission

  • Supporting visiting organizations and special events

Assignments are based on both operational requirements and each Cadet's interests whenever possible.

Eligibility

Spring OJT is available to graduates of Cadet Basic Training. Completion of the Cadet Field Leader Course is encouraged but not required. Cadets earn one promotion point for each week successfully completed.

More Than a Job

Spring OJT is not simply volunteer work—it is an opportunity to learn leadership by serving. Cadets gain an inside look at military-style operations, develop practical workplace skills, receive personal mentorship from experienced Cadre, and help prepare Camp Liberty for another successful training season. For motivated returning Cadets, Spring OJT is one of the best ways to continue growing as a leader while giving back to the organization that helped develop them.
